DACHSER platform is honored with the Annual Multimedia Award
The DACHSER platform receives the prestigious Annual Multimedia Award in silver in the Digital Services category: Apps, Tools & Voice User Interfaces etc. The award confirms that the digital customer platform meets and in some cases exceeds all basic requirements in terms of user-friendliness, design and stability. With this award, the DACHSER platform also receives external recognition that it meets DACHSER's strict security and quality standards.
Cornelius Kubik, Department Head DACHSER platform, and Regina Puls, Lead User Research & Strategy at Ray Sono, present the Annual Multimedia Award together with the DACHSER platform team.
Lars Relitz, who is responsible for the DACHSER platform as Head of Corporate Digital Innovation & Development, summarizes the significance of the award for the project as follows: "The award is a clear indicator for us that we are on the right track." For the first time, a digital platform integrates all of DACHSER's business areas into a modern, user-friendly customer interface. "The DACHSER platform is innovative with its cross-modal view from the customer user's perspective. Its intuitive user interface is easy to understand and can be adapted to individual needs," adds Lars Relitz.
The DACHSER platform is recognized as one of the best digital services of 2023
The Annual Multimedia Award, which is organized by Walhalla u. Praetoria Verlag GmbH & Co. KG and presented by a jury of independent experts, has been honoring creative solutions, innovative ideas and business models in the digital space since 1996. Sylvia Rockmann, Project Manager at partner agency Ray Sono, is delighted with the expert vote: "The award recognizes outstanding digital projects that set trends, especially in terms of user experience, and are considered current best cases. In addition to real customer feedback, the platform also receives confirmation from experts."
Following the project launch a year and a half ago, the first version of the DACHSER platform with a basic range of functions has been live since August 2023 and is already being actively used by air freight export customers in their day-to-day business. Over the course of 2024, the DACHSER platform will be successively expanded in order to digitally map the logistics service provider's entire range of services and make them available in an integrated manner.
Dorian, currently a Category 5 hurricane on Sunday night local time, is approaching the southeastern coast of the United States from Florida to the Carolinas.
The storm is expected to affect all Florida seaports on the Atlantic side. Below the ports that are currently affected:
Miami ports:
South Florida Container Terminal – closed at noon, August 30, for vessel operations.
POMTOC’s gate closed on August 30 to prepare the terminal for Hurricane Dorian.
Port Everglades:
Port Condition ZULU in effect since 6pm, September 1 – sustained tropical storm force winds are expected to reach the port within the next 12 hours. Port Everglades will be closed to all operations unless specifically approved by the authority.
Jacksonville and Tampa:
Port Condition WHISKEY in effect – still open to all commercial traffic and all transfer operations.
Florida airports are monitoring the path of the hurricane closely, but have not announced any closures yet.
We will continue to monitor the hurricane and will provide updates. Please contact your local DACHSER representative if you have any questions.
Nobody can predict the future—not politicians, not scientists, and not economists. However, that doesn’t mean we can give up the constant task of classifying current developments, tracking trends, and drawing the appropriate conclusions for tomorrow. This requires us to look closely, ask questions—and, most importantly, listen. That might sound obvious, but it can be a real challenge in day-to-day business.
DACHSER stays on course and expands its global network
After the economic boom in logistics resulting from the coronavirus pandemic and worldwide disruption to supply chains, normalcy returned to the industry in 2023. DACHSER was among those whose financial year was marked by weak demand for logistics services in the face of significant overcapacity and a sharp decline in air and sea freight rates.
Logistics in the time of the coronavirus: supply chains under stress
Worldwide flows of goods have taken a massive hit from the coronavirus in a way never seen before. The full repercussions are not yet foreseeable, but for Dachser, one thing is already certain: when plans can no longer be made, there is particular value in robust logistics networks.
